A WFP-chartered flight landed in Vanuatu’s capital Port Vila on Saturday bringing humanitarian personnel & much needed telecoms equipment and medical supplies to support the island state following a devastating 7.3 mag earthquake earlier this week.

WFP is heartbroken by the tragic deaths of three of our colleagues in #Sudan, who were carrying out lifesaving duties on the frontlines of one of the world's largest hunger crises.

Any loss of life in humanitarian service is unconscionable. Humanitarians are not, and must never be, a target. Yet a record number have lost their lives in 2024.

We stand in solidarity with our colleagues, their families, and the entire WFP team at this time of grief.
