@MikhailaFuller If assigned the lion diet, will participants be given any funding to afford the beef? I’m not trolling, a family member has crohns and is interested in applying for the study, but is concerned about the cost of only eating meat. Thanks.
Imbued with a sublime sense of symbolic immortality.
We love you, Dr. Roland Griffiths.
You may have passed this evening, but your work will carry forth in our hearts and https://t.co/pH1vUORkI5
@davidchalmers42@WorldSciFest@bgreene I struggle with the “substrate independence” claim. “Biology” is “life.” Silicon is a chemical element. Has any chemical element ever achieved life? No life = no consciousness.
this paper on collective intelligence by @drmichaellevin is one of the most mind-blowing things I've read in a while
it's full of examples of the under-appreciated intelligence of biological systems, with some deep perspective shifts on our understanding of ourselves
thread:
Very important to note here that qPCR positives are not the same as "virus particles." It's much easier to detect viral RNA by qPCR than it is to detect infectious virus or intact virus particles (as the article correctly notes).
This finding does have some big implications:
@algekalipso I believe that’s why people refer to positive psychoactive experiences as “getting high.” “Feeling low” is on the same axis. Height also provides an increase in perspective- and perhaps broader/deeper “insight,” analogous to the way that it provides a greater external view.
@RichDecibels My take, having travelled similar waters, is that this is beyond the domain of logic. It’s an energy flow issue & energy will eventually find its path. Avoid going meta-analytical. “Just” have faith that the boat will indeed right itself & do your best to let things balance out.
@hubermanlab Dr., you need to address that NYMag article. I’m waiting to hear your side of the story. If you fail to make a detailed response, apology, or whatever, this is not going away- but your fans will. Authenticity matters. You can’t ignore this.
