🇮🇩Indonesia has 4.4 billion barrels of oil in the ground.

It imports most of what it burns.

ESDM's 2025 count puts total reserves at 4.4 billion barrels, of which 2.3 billion are proven.

Central Sumatra holds the most, 709 million proven, mostly the old Rokan block that Pertamina took over from Chevron in 2021.

East Java's Cepu, run by ExxonMobil, is second.

Everything else is small and scattered from Natuna to Papua.

Those numbers look big until you run the arithmetic...

Indonesia produces around 600,000 barrels a day and consumes roughly 1.6 million, so it is short a million barrels a day and most of what it buys comes across the Indian Ocean from the Gulf.

Its reserve to production ratio is about 10 years on proven barrels, and the fields doing the heavy lifting were discovered in the 1940s and 1970s.

That is why Jakarta's 1 million b/d by 2030 target sounds ambitious and reads as survival.

In a Hormuz world, a Southeast Asian importer with Brent at $100 and a weak rupiah is one of the most exposed economies on the map, and it has more ships than spare barrels to solve it with.

Film Terminator 2 yg keluar awal 90an membayangkan AI menjadi self aware pada tahun 1997 dan bergerak menaklukkan manusia yg menciptakannya. Shg manusia masa depan perlu mengirim robot humanoid (Arnold Schawrzenegger) untuk ubah sejarah.

Pembaca science fiction classic mungkin ingat seri Isaac Asimov yang berbasis pada The Three Laws of Robotics yg diciptakannya sbg fondasi programming robot.

First Law: Protect humans from harm or inaction leading to harm.

Second Law: Obey human orders, unless conflicting with the First Law.

Third Law: Protect self-existence, unless conflicting with the First or Second Law.
