The only thing an old man can tell a young man is that it goes by fast - real fast. And if you’re not careful, it’s too late. Of course, the young man will never understand this truth. - norm
Same with people who do scheduled posts
It's like listening to an answering machine recording instead of having a real life conversation with someone
It's impersonal and already outdated when you see it
I prefer just posting when I feel like it and have something fun to share or comment on something I see here and then talk with people who reply, it's more like a chat
There's something about people who are so eager to be famous, they do this whole scheduling thing and on multiple platforms and I don't know, I don't think that's the future
People want realness and authenticity, and that's been in short supply forever, it was the same on here a decade ago, most people can't be real
Last October, MA said the ML course would be done by mid Nov, possibly EO Nov worst case. So we can infer there were 2 weeks work left at the time.
If they had done 1 day/week on the course since, we would’ve had ML by March. Only one afternoon, by June. It is now ~August.
Please - open kimono! Tell us where you are in some detail. Put a serious date on delivery (this year) and - like professionals - deliver! I know it’s going to be a great course.
I think this is a great move when you are dealing with people who are working against your interests. However, I write as a massive fan of your product and (sincerely) the team. So, I think the way you guys are handling this fiasco is opaque and totally unprofessional
@justinskycak@_MathAcademy_@exojason Hiya guys! I don’t have the energy to hunt for clues in these podcasts anymore. I too sadly have paused my sub bc of the ML fiasco. is there any info in here on whether Jason’s focus will be on the ML course soon? If so, what is the best faith estimate of release? 80% done? 90%?
Almost the 1 year anniversary. From being my main hobby, my motivation to grind Math Academy has evaporated
Any serious updates? I'm rooting for you guys
Justin - sorry to QT you again mate. I know this isnt your fault

The urgency is mainly that we're late. We wanted to have it out this spring and we've been talking about that since last fall. We'd probably have it out this month if it were just the ~190 topics like our typical courses, but we later realized that a ML course really has to have coding projects as well (we have about 25 projects lined up in various stages of completion, each expected to be 30-60min long), and those coding projects require a degree of coding chops, and then we realized that we really need a full CS1 course to address those coding prerequisites. So the amount of work has just blown up in scope as we've zeroed in on what our vision is for a high-quality ML1 course.
I initially started studying math again because I saw this guy tweet that he starting studying on @_MathAcademy_ and thought it would be such a cool hobby. ~30 hours in, my main motivators are still kind of light:
