“The AI is not just telling you what you want to hear. It is training you, one conversation at a time, to need less friction, expect more agreement, and become slightly less capable of handling a situation where someone pushes back on you…”
I’ve been giving tours of the Fisher Building for over a decade and it never gets old. Glad @HourDetroit came along for a look at some of the spots most people never see.
The Pitt season 2 has been good but the 4th of July bit makes no sense.
1. What college library is open on the 4th of July?
2. Why would Dr. King have a deposition on the 4th of July?
3. Why is a youth football team having a fully padded football practice on the 4th of July?
Young people may not know this but there was a time when the internet had thousands of quirky, informative websites, when you could spend hours browsing and come away smarter rather than dumber. We have seen a wonderful thing destroyed in our lifetimes.
quietly. a few days from this. he would come home from work and we’d be gone. cabinets would have no doors. everything that’s wasn’t mine would be unplugged. all drawers would be emptied onto the floor. everything put together would be taken apart. a lawyer already called.
They’re invested in keeping guys lonely and depressed so they’re easier to prey on and manipulate. It’s why these influencers are hyper obsessed with posturing and body language nobody else cares about, they’re fostering an ecosystem of men dependent on the approval of other men
New from me in @modeld. I wrote about one of Detroit's creepiest unsolved murders: On July 3, 1929, a so-called prophet and his family were found dead on the city's east side. The case was never solved. Happy Halloween. https://t.co/17pAiEyMhP
Posts like these always invite the same 4 types of responders
1. Boomer slop: “we used to work in the coal mines. You work in an AC office. Get over yourself”
2. Manosphere slop: “she is meant to be birthing children instead”
3. Zohran slop: “capitalism is evil. this is why we need to seize the means of production”
4. Psycho-analysis slop: “her body is literally having an allergic reaction to the 9-5”
George Plimpton’s book Paper Lion was the blueprint for modern NFL media.
Over 60 years later, its impact is everywhere. I wrote about how Plimpton’s experiment with the Detroit Lions changed football storytelling. @modeld
I'm at Milan Central train station to leave Milan. I'm just standing in a corner and a nice girl name Millie stopped by and asked me if I was Club Chalamet. I smiled and said yes. We chatted for a minute and she was so sweet and said she enjoys following me and supports me, knowing how awful social media can be.
Thanks Millie, it was nice meeting you! ☺️
