Crazy thing is i have argued this with my own father a thousand times, they are always pissed my kids speak French and English but not igbo and my response is simple:

The world is progressing but Nigeria regresses on a daily, most people are running away from the country and 10 out of 10 times they will not use Igbo for anything in a white man’s land, speaking French and English or any globally recognised language will open far better doors for your kids than igbo or Yoruba will unless they have plans to become Igbo or Yoruba movies actors or artistry.

Now it doesn’t mean if i have the opportunity to teach them igbo i wouldn’t but i will prioritise a language that will help their lives in adulthood than anything else.

Aisha Achimugu: Court Grants Final Forfeiture of N4.6b Jewelries, N4.3b Exotic Cars, $50, 000 , N30, 000,000 to Government

A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court sitting in the Apo, Abuja, has granted the final forfeiture of properties linked to a business woman, Ms Aisha Achimugu to the federal government.

The properties include jewelries worth N4,645,170, 294.9 billion (Fourt Billion, Six Hundred and Forty-Five Million, One Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Two Hundred and Ninety-Four Naira, Nine Kobo) eleven exotic cars worth N4.293,000, 000 (Four Billion, Two Hundred and Ninety-Three Million Naira), $50, 000( Fifty Thousand United States Dollars) and N30, 000,000 (Thirty Million Naira) cash.

Justice Jude Onwugbuzie granted the order on Thursday, July 16 2026 in a judgment on the application for final forfeiture of the properties by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC

Alleged N36m Fraud: Court Adjourns Blessing CEO’s Trial Until July 20

The trial of social media influencer and relationship therapist Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, (a.k.a Blessing CEO) before Justice D.I. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos was adjourned on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, due to her absence in court.

Blessing CEO is facing a two-count charge filed by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), bordering on alleged obtaining by false pretence and alleged theft of N36 million.

When the matter was called, counsel to the defendant, P.I. Nwafuru, informed the court that officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service had notified him that his client was ill and, as a result, could not attend the proceedings.

He requested an adjournment and assured the court that a medical report would be presented at the next hearing.

Following the prayer of the defence counsel, Justice D.I. Dipeolu adjourned the matter til Monday, July 20, 2026, for the continuation of trial.

One of charges against Blessing reads “That you, OKORO BLESSING NKIRUKA, between July 14 and 17, 2024, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did obtain the sum of N36,000,000.00 (Thirty-six Million Naira) from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye under the false pretence of leasing a six-bedroom detached duplex situated at No. 1B, Tunbosun Osobu Street, Off Kuboye Road, Lekki, Lagos State, which representation you knew to be false, and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.”
