So pumped to announce that @emmettshine is joining @MentorPass!
Emmett has been at the top of my Dream Mentor List for a while.
He's one of the OGs in DTC, and his agency, Gin Lane, was behind brands like Harry's, Hims, Sweetgreen, Warby Parker, Smile Direct Club, Haus, and more.
In 2019, Emmett and the team decided to close the doors on the Gin Lane agency and focus on Pattern Brands, which Harvard Business Review called "DTC 2.0".
Since then, startups and big brands have been chomping at the bit to get Emmett's help, and I'm honored that MentorPass is unlocking that opportunity.
I had a brief chat with him recently and was amazed at his humility, another big factor we look for in our mentors.
He mentioned that he just wants to come in and work hard to help people as much as possible -- that servant leadership mindset will make him a 10/10 mentor.
If you need help with Brand & Creative Strategy, UX/UI Design, Business Strategy, Growth Strategy, or Fundraising, Emmett will be a great mentor!
He's running with an intro rate right now and you can book time with him at the link below.
Disabled people are being hired more often and making more money in the U.S.'s tight labor market. Did Covid prove that remote work was possible after all? @bencasselman discusses with Nora Genster of @nwcenter, Mason Ameri of @RutgersBSchool and others. https://t.co/YOmvLLwerT
Pretty cool writeup of @patternbrands' @GIR spatulas in @wirecutter today 😊

Still little kid excited about positive nerding-out product reviews - even for spatulas 🙃
With $60 million of fresh capital, @patternbrands is rolling out a new acquisitions strategy and building a suite of exceptional brands. Here's how partner @bksun helped think it through:

Holy cow. Got to see @Company open tonight. One of the last @ginlane projects we worked on was doing the identity and brand direction for the entire 1m sq ft building. Seeing this in real life was unreal. Wow.
The fossil fuel industry is now the equivalent of the tobacco industry. It creates death and destruction, then spends billions denying its responsibility.
Let us be clear: Hurricane Dorian has everything to do with climate change, which is the existential crisis of our time.
Focus on the customer, build something special and talk about things that matter. Brands are friends, not just a distribution point. #shopperexperience@ginlane
Excited to share: 👉🏽 @hello_alma_ has opened its first care center in New York where they are creating a design-led, tech-enabled experience for therapists and patients to connect comfortably. 🍃
We worked on strategy, design, voice, & name. ⛅️ https://t.co/CyJ5w1Hcg6
So far, Parkland is *not* fading from the news the way that mass shootings usually do. (The graph shows Google searches for the term "gun control".) The students speaking out makes a pretty big difference.
