I am currently a senior at Rutgers University majoring in Information Technology and Informatics with a minor in Digital Communications Information and Media.
If I had to choose one of my biggest take-always from this course I would say that understanding the definition of a disruptive technology is important in terms of continuance and progression of society through technological advancements. #DigiTechF22B
@RAlbrolisy I have had an interaction once with a robot at a supermarket and was very amazed to even think of it as an employee. The robot was moving around the aisle to see if there were spills and if there were it would notify a worker.
@BuechertMelissa Smart home devices will continue to appear in the market as technology continues to advance. One of the main reasons some smart home systems are highly demanded is due to the security the technology offers.
As technology continues to progress, more jobs will be set from a home environment due to technologies such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and more. The commonality of hybrid and off-site job positions will increase exponentially. #DigiTechF22B
@DCIMDania I think this is a great topic! We can already see the success of Tesla and how moving forward we could see more electronic cars on the road.
@JeffJin02 I think this is an interesting topic to choose, you can try to compare how people interact in the VRChat to how people interact in real life.
@ru_andrew02 I think this technology is great to research especially with it being fresh and could really play an impact on society in the near future.
For my EDTP project, I will be focusing on the topic of streaming platforms. Some of these platforms will include Netflix, Hulu, HBO+ and more. I plan on researching the changes that have occurred over the years from cable and how it affects society. #DigiTechF22B
@NataliePresRU Harassment and cyberbullying has become a huge problem in today’s society. A lot of these offenses are seen in children and teens because they feel they have the luxury to say whatever they want with no punishment on the internet.
@StevenKarczew Influencers have gained a lot of “credibility” in society due to their popularity which has persuaded people into believing whatever they say. Social media has a huge impact on the users because the users are vulnerable and allow themselves to believe the people they like.
@DCIMDania With the pandemic, Zoom meetings were essential due to being able to attend meetings while being home and secured. Now, society knows that we could rely on the communication through the internet.
While society continues to develop into a more technological era, people have started to use payment apps in order to process transactions. However, many people still raise concerns on whether their information is at risk. #DigiTechF22B https://t.co/laRtIhpuXB
