Right to a dignified death!

Supreme Court of India has permitted passive euthanasia for 32 yr old Harish Rana of Ghaziabad, marking the first judicial implementation of the 2018 Common Cause judgment that recognized the right to a dignified death

Bench comprising Justices JB Pardiwala and KV Vishwanathan made the decision after two medical boards reported that Rana had no chance of recovery. According to a petition filed by his parents, he has been bedridden for over 12 years and survives on a liquid diet, highlighting the prolonged suffering that led to this landmark approval
