Why did my MetaPlanet models fail? See below. Could I be wrong again? Of course. MNAV may bounce. It’s not something Simon or Dylan or any of us can control. I have the utmost respect for them.
All my models were based on mNAV premium arb before eventual compression to 1, but the compression occurred very quickly. Tons of new companies didn’t help as everyone fought for inflows.
I did great buying MSTR leaps late 2022 within a day of the low. I did great calling the top in Nov a day before it hit. I’ve also made a lot of mistakes (celsius/ BlockFi/voyager) and have done my best to be transparent about those. The receipts are there and I don’t think I’ve ever deleted a post.
I don’t claim to be like Warren Buffet or anyone else. I have no degree. I retired at 39 after lots of ups and downs trading the markets for years while working as an electrician in a steel mill with 60k to my name and no home or car or job at one point in 2020.
I’ve made lots of money as a bear and a bull since then, buying puts at the beginning of COVID and calls as the recovery began. I usually go opposite of the herd which is usually opposite of recent price action as I love to catch reversals.
With Metaplanet, I started out bullish at $2.50 late April, stayed bullish through the highs and only turned neutral recently. It’s only bearish compared to my previous bullish predictions, though I have grown skeptical about pref yield calculations and expected Bitcoin CAGR.
I’ll likely exit most treasury company positions this year, but still imagine there will be long term winners. It comes with added risk of just holding Bitcoin, and as potent as Bitcoin’s potential returns are, to me a high % allocation isn’t necessary.
Everyone’s situation is different. Everyone’s assumptions for these markets are different. To those saying my capitulation is likely the bottom signal, I hope you’re right, but if you think I’m wrong, share your models or assumptions. Wishing everyone the best. I’ll continue posting about various topics including these companies.
🐰: The best thing about my husband is he’s never once said, “I want you to do this.” or “Don’t do that.”
Hearing Son Yejin’s words about Hyun Bin reassures me that I chose the right person to stan, a rare kind of man nowadays. 🥹🤍
