Vivek Ramaswamy is booed offstage after telling Ohio crowd, 'The truth of the matter is, people in my generation have already made it. We're gonna be fine.'
Evangelical Christianity is a politicized version of Christianity that has Israel at its core and its adherents on the right, some muslim leaders in the west are coming up with an Islam version of Evangelical Christianity on the left with Palestine as its core. A big mistake.
🚨
The DSA’s winning power is not socialism, it’s the fusion of the socialist electoral machine with Muslim/South Asian community organizing and an SJP-bred candidate coalition, bound together by anti-Zionism.
And everyone wants to talk about communism because that’s actually not the issue deciding these last races in New York.
The voter surge that delivered the mayoral race was Muslim and South Asian, and Mamdani said so on tape. “We increased the turnout of Muslims by 60%, the turnout of South Asians by 40%.” South Asian turnout went from 15% in 2021 to 43% in 2025 (DRUM Beats’ analysis of Board of Elections data, reported by City & State and Democracy Now!).
The campaign canvassed 100+ mosques and reached 200,000 Muslim voters (DSA’s own Democratic Left, and Jacobin). 87% of South Asian voters went for Mamdani.
The candidate ground game comes out of the campus Palestine movement, not labor. Mamdani co-founded SJP at Bowdoin; Chevalier co-founded Columbia’s CUAD with Mahmoud Khalil and led the encampment (JTA, JPost, Times of Israel, all mainstream). The organizers being converted into officeholders trained in SJP first.
The coalition’s founding story is the Muslim-immigrant/radical-left fusion. DSA’s own writers date it to 2017, Mamdani as paid canvasser for Khader El-Yateem, “the alliance between Muslim immigrant communities and radical politics that contributed heavily to Mamdani’s primary win.”
The binding issue, is Zionism, not capitalism. The 2025 convention made support for Israel an expellable offense. They de-endorsed AOC and tried to purge Bowman over Israel before he was ousted. There is no parallel purge over economic heterodoxy.
The decisive electoral weapon against the establishment was Palestine. Chevalier beat a five-term Hispanic Caucus chair in a district with few Jews, running on Khalil’s detention and “bought by the Israeli lobby.” JTA: first time incumbents lost seats for being too pro-Israel.
The DSA is not a communist movement that happens to hate Israel. It is an anti-Zionist coalition, built on Muslim and South Asian community organizing and a candidate class bred in the campus Palestine movement, that happens to use communism.
Socialism is the Trojan horse; the Muslim-Palestine axis is what actually generates the candidates, the new voters, and the only cause the coalition will enforce on threats of expulsion.
Strip the Palestine-Muslim alignment and the socialism reverts to the shrinking debating society it was in 2024.
The capture is real, the people entering like Maurice Isserman took the house, but the thing that captured it isn’t Marx. It’s anti-Zionism, carried by the organizing networks built around it.
Cory Booker has lost the plot, his calculus is just off, he is making himself unpalatable to the people on the center by pandering to the people on the far left who will never accept him.
Texas Democrats are showing America right now what is possible if we stand up and do not give up hope.
When they elect James Talarico to the United States Senate they won't just take Texas higher they will take America higher.
The key to the new rule of building coalitions is to make sure your base is pampered whilst giving the other base just enough not to rebel, but don't try to satisfy the other camp. Welcome to the era where elections will have consequences
Obama gave rise to Trump because he could satisfy no one, not the far left who where into climate change, the middle that wanted to see banks & co punished nor the other camp of evangelicals he tried to reach out to, leaving the whole country in a state of angst and malaise.
Elections have consequences, Trump and Biden have showed us that, either your platform should deliver by satisfying your base whilst debunking the negatives the other base had for your platform and people give you another chance, or your platform fails and you leave disgraced
Centralism is a failed doctrine, the idea that you are going to rule from the middle because the majority is in the middle is what has led to the polarisation of politics.
Ruling from the middle alienates your base and leave the other base you are reaching out to dissatisfied.

Ben has made the calculation that politics after Trump will revert back to the way its been, boisterous, chaotic and outrageous but not pepe the frog bizarre levels.
Whilst Gavin and JD thinks Trump just set the new standard and that he who outperforms Trump gets the seat.
🚨 Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) torches the far-left DSA wing after their wins in NY:
In a new CNN interview, Shapiro dismisses the relevance of Zohran Mamdani and DSA-backed socialist victories in New York, calling them “individual districts in a whole other state” with “different looking congressional races.”
He calls out their performative politics, platitudes, and failure to deliver results for people struggling with cost of living, healthcare, and making ends meet. Shapiro says Democrats need candidates who actually deliver, not just make noise.

Reasonable Democrats are going to have to get off their couches, roll up their sleeves and start organizing real voters on the ground.
We can no longer rely only on TV ads, digital spend and endorsements. Just donating from afar and complaining about the DSA won’t cut it.
The DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) can beat moderates in a growing number of blue strongholds. Why? Because the DSA has patiently built an army of on-the-ground organizers — who go to meetings, help each other, study together and THEN work to turn out voters on Election Day. That army grows every day — election or no election. Their investment in real people grows (and compounds) with each election cycle. The DSA has a bigger army, every time, win or lose.
But at the end of any election, all moderate Dems have for their efforts is a bunch of ads that nobody will ever see again. That’s not going to work anymore.
If you are a Democrat who believes in opportunity, dignity and democracy for all — but you don’t hate rich people, cops, free enterprise, the West, Israel and the United States of America — I’m talking to you!
Simply not true, MAGA was a coalition of many forces who as fate would have it found synergies with each other with Trump just acting as the guy who brought the groups together. Trump threw a party, people showed up, got talking and maintained contact long after the party ended.
Stephen Miller thinks Democrats have finally gone too far. I think he’s completely misreading what just happened in New York — and why the same populist energy that created MAGA could now turn against Trump.

The problem with capitalists is that they preach capitalism but govern like robber barons while speaking the dog eat dog language of the jungle, whilst socialists preach socialism but govern as reluctant capitalists all the while speaking the language of compassion.
MAGA and conservatives are ecstatic that if the dems keep up their socialist march, then the midterms and 2028 is bagged already. Typical of republicans they will sit back and wait for common sense to prevail whilst dems will be organising on the ground like the world is ending
Scott Jennings warns that if the Mamdani-backed socialists win their Democrat primaries tonight, this radicalism is no longer going to be contained to New York and Seattle.
He predicts it will spark a socialist wave across the country.
JENNINGS: “If the socialists win, I agree with you. They’re going to feel like they have the wind at their back. You’re going to see a Mamdani-inspired candidacies across the country. You already are!”
“Michigan is a great example. There’s a senate primary going on there, and I think Abdul El-Sayed is ahead in that, he has a great chance to win. He’s exactly like these socialist candidates in New York City.”
“It’s not just confined to a few districts here. It is spreading already. And if they win, you’re going to see this inspiration for these kinds of candidacies across the country. The implications for the Democratic Party out there for 2028 are vast.”
What happened in NYC tonight represents a larger trend among Dems...
1. Dem Socialists (+17 pt net fav) are more popular than Dems in Congress (+4 pt net fav) with Dems.
2. Socialism's popularity with Dems is way up in the last 15 years & is far more popular than capitalism.
Trump's base was willing to go along with him on Iran because his has earned it. Unfortunately Trump has made the mistake of listening to the media and experts, has panicked and is pursuing a deal that will cost him the very support he is worried of losing
