The United States condemns in the strongest terms the drone attack against a UN base in Kadugli, Sudan, reportedly killing six Bangladeshi peacekeepers and wounding many others. This deliberate attack on a UN base represents an egregious disregard for international efforts to protect peace and security. The warring parties must not target UN personnel. Both sides are not remotely the same; lets imagine a scenario where the Sudanese army did not fight and pulled out of every city in Sudan and fortified itself in Port Sudan and the surrounding Red Sea mountains; what that would look like for the average Sudanese?? When everyone knows that when the Army loses a city the RSF proceeds to loot, rape and massacre the city and its inhabitants.

The Sudanese Army is literally all that stands between the Sudanese people and all these RSF atrocities that this statement falsely attributes to both sides. Moves to undermine the Sudanese Army by falsely attributing RSF systematic atrocities to both sides is not neutrally it’s exactly what the militias UAE sponsors want.

A reminder that peculiarly Serbia filed an intervention in support of the UAE in the case that Sudan brought to the court accusing the UAE of being complicit in genocide; which ultimately the ICJ ruled it didn’t have jurisdiction to rule on.

Serbia has being one of the principle suppliers of weapons bought by the UAE to supply the RSF. There is little doubt at this point that the Serbian Government is aware that weapons produced by its Arms manufacturers are being transferred to the RSF and in turn being used to commit mass atrocities including genocide.

On the 29th November the Sudanese Army claimed that it targeted a training camp for the RSF allied SPLM/AlHilu rebels near Kauda. The SPLM/Al Hilu subsequently issued a statement alleging that it was a school that was targeted without providing any evidence of this. But it is the SPLM/Al Hilu’s version of events that were carried in the international media.

The location of the strike was geo-located to a group of buildings right next to an airstrip; a militarily logistically significant location; lending support to the Army’s version. Today the Army released drone strike footage that practically confirms the Army’s version of event; it shows men stood in military drill formation before being struck by a drone missile.

Al Hilu is a Janjaweed allied warlord his claims should not be reported as fact.
