Built in Nigeria. Ready for the world.
Today, I want to celebrate @milsat_africa, founded by Taslim Saluadeen and Adedamola Baderinwa, the Nigerian company behind the technology powering our new National Digital Postcode.
From delivering a pilot in 2023 to building a national system, Milsat demonstrates the depth of Nigerian technical capability and our ability to create infrastructure that improves public services, supports businesses and opens up economic opportunities.
Their work extends beyond postcode. Milsat supported the National Population Commission’s mapping of more than 65 million properties in preparation for Nigeria’s first digital census, and has deployed enumeration area demarcation technology in Sierra Leone.
This is the ambition I want us to nurture: Nigerian companies building solutions for our needs, proving their capabilities at home and taking that expertise to the world.
With appreciation to @NipostNgn, Meeds Network Limited and the National Population Commission for their roles in this journey, today’s spotlight belongs to the Milsat team.
I look forward to seeing you help many more countries turn location and field data into better services for their people.

Everyone in Nigeria has a location. Now every location has a postcode.
Today, NIPOST launches the National Digital Postcode System, and I’m speaking to you from the heart of it: our new GIS lab, where every corner of Nigeria is being mapped and coded.
No more “turn left after the blue gate.” Your postcode connects you to deliveries, e-commerce, emergency services, banking and government services, wherever you are.
After a successful pilot in Abuja, it’s now live nationwide.

Proud to lead the team building infrastructure that puts every Nigerian on the map.
My deepest gratitude to President @officialasiwajubat for his vision and support under the Renewed Hope Agenda, and to the Hon. Minister @bosuntijani , whose leadership in building Nigeria’s digital economy made this possible.
Thank you to the NIPOST @nipostngn family, our partners, and every Nigerian who joined the exercise . This is national infrastructure built by Nigerians, for Nigerians.

Whenever @ProfIsaPantami mentions the adoption of technology to curb security challenges, especially in Gombe, it’s not just for optics. It is something he has done, even within his little efforts.
While he was Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Pantami, under the office of Galaxy Backbone, brought what was tagged as the “Gombe Safe City”, a computerised centre designed to monitor movements at strategic locations within Gombe. This was initially envisaged to tackle crimes and monitor activities within the city. From “Welcome to Gombe”, and all other key places, this room can monitor happenings.
Therefore, when some of us support Prof. Pantami, it is because we believe he is the best fit for the job in Gombe. He has a scorecard to sell. He has a proven track record to speak for him.

The greatest power is not the power to dominate.
It's the power to build a future that works for everyone.
Our shared future will be forged by whether humanity can govern power wisely.
Together, let's meet this challenge with determination & resolve for a better world for all.
The big AI labs will keep selling tokens, but within a few years that won't be their main business.
Open-weight models are closing the gap, Chinese labs are copying the frontier at scale, and the best models are getting too dangerous to hand to everyone.
The labs will keep their best models for themselves and point them at problems worth more than tokens: a proof, a molecule, a financial model, a diagnosis. You can already see them doing it.
Africa still has no permanent seat on the Security Council.
A 21st century Security Council without permanent African representation is unjust & indefensible.
We must reform the Council so that it reflects today’s world with the legitimacy and effectiveness that today’s challenges demand.
MrBeast shows his BIGGEST charity project yet, spending over $10 MILLION to build an entire VILLAGE designed to help kids attend school instead of being forced into child labor 👀🔥
The village includes a SCHOOL, community center, library, medical center, farm, playground, sports fields and HOUSES FOR TEACHERS 🤯
“We are not spoilt. Unlike when we meet our father’s friends’ kids, we stay quiet and don’t say who we are. Life was easier before people recognized us. Some are comfortable with social media, but we’re not. Our goal is to build our father’s company to $100 B.”

Es la escuela número 1001 del programa.

I have ordered a full and transparent investigation into the deaths of suspected illegal miners detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps following enforcement operations around the Lt. Gen. Mohammed Inuwa Wushishi Estate in Minna, Niger State.
The life of every Nigerian matters. No citizen should lose their life while in government custody as a result of negligence, abuse, inhumane treatment or dereliction of duty.
I am deeply concerned by the reported deaths. This is a grave matter, and the circumstances must be investigated urgently and thoroughly.
The Federal Government will continue to combat illegal mining and other criminal activities across our country. Those operations must be conducted strictly within the law and with full respect for the dignity and fundamental rights of every person taken into custody.
The fact that these individuals were suspected of illegal mining does not remove their right to life, dignity and humane treatment. We will not tolerate deaths arising from official negligence, abuse, dereliction of duty or the failure of public officials to protect lives placed under their care.
Where the investigation establishes that any official, through action, abuse or negligence, contributed to these deaths, that officer must be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law. There must be accountability.
I have directed that the investigation be comprehensive, transparent and unhindered. It must establish the circumstances of the arrests, the condition of the detainees when they were taken into custody, the conditions under which they were held, the number of persons detained at the facility, the medical attention provided to them and the events leading to their deaths.
The suspension of officers is an administrative step. It cannot substitute for a proper determination of criminal responsibility where the evidence warrants prosecution.
I have therefore directed the Ministry of Interior and the leadership of the NSCDC to cooperate fully with all relevant investigative authorities. No officer must interfere with the investigation or attempt to frustrate the establishment of the truth.
I extend my condolences to the families of those who died and pray for the repose of their souls. I also appeal for calm among the affected families and communities. The Federal Government will pursue the truth and take appropriate action based on credible evidence.
We must never allow the pursuit of one form of illegality to create another. Government must enforce the law firmly, but government itself must obey the law.
The sanctity of human life is non-negotiable.
BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR
PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
A promise made. A promise kept. ✈️🇸🇦🇳🇬
In February, we gave our word: Jeddah and Abuja would be connected. Today, we keep it.
This is more than a route on a map. It's a bridge between two peoples who have long shared faith, trade, and friendship.
One day in the Haram of Makkah, I met the great scholar and world-renowned Qur’an expert, Sheikh Abdurrashid Aliy Sufi, the Sheikh agreed to give me the opportunity to recite some verses from the Qur’an for him to listen to..
May Allah make the Qur’an a proof for us and not against us, and increase us in knowledge..🤲
