@pear4thew92233 This may say more about most of the people you know than about LLMs :-/.
Functionalism still has issues proving consciousness apart from lack of time, but I agree: the NPC meme hits hard because too many people act/eat/live like NPCs.
For me, the problem is not limited functionality. I am not trying to intercept packets or change browser functionality. But, running all the background code in a service worker has been quite an adventure.
It is surprisingly difficult to build applications within service workers. Things you take for granted just don't work right. The runtime has no global namespace i.e. no global (node) or window (browser). Almost all libraries (or their dependencies) expect one or the other.
Despite the bad press, Chrome's manifest v3 extension API is really cool. Of course, it does have limitations, and I understand that. But, despite the functionality limitations, for simple applications it is set up in a very sensible way.
1-click validators are coming to @Fuse_network!

@HomeDepot what's up with your website refusing to let me search for anything? It brings up a survey when I click to search. Doesn't matter what I do, I just get this survey page from https://t.co/w4V8gEhsMt
Should defendants have to take the prosecution’s word that DNA software, which inaccurately found matches in 60 criminal cases in one Australian state alone, is reliable? We don’t think so either. https://t.co/MYvLivhzEL
@carlrichell@system76 The layout is really strange, smashing the ALT button against the CTRL button rather than putting super and fn between them. But, since it is customizable I assume that won't be an issue to change. Very cool, except that I'd never buy a keyboard without a number pad.
AirTags can enable stalking--especially for users who don't have an iPhone. "Apple’s failure to take seriously the safety of people who exist outside of the Apple ecosystem is inexcusable," write EFF's @evacide and @FoxCahn in @Wired. https://t.co/SC62n0D3BB
