6th waste fire at the same location in 22 days -Sector 12 Bus Stand, Gurugram 🔥

Complaints have been submitted to CAQM, CPCB, and MCG. On 1 April, we had also written to CAQM regarding repeated waste fires in Gurugram, which was acknowledged and forwarded to the Member Secretary, HSPCB for necessary action. The issue of open waste burning at Haryana Roadways sector 12 site has since been consistently flagged with district authorities, with media reports already documenting incidents on 16 and 25 April.

A high-footfall public transport site continues to witness repeated waste burning despite clear regulatory provisions under NGT orders prohibiting such practices, and Supreme Court observations recognising waste mismanagement and fires as contributors to Delhi-NCR’s air pollution crisis.

What more escalation is required for Haryana Roadways and Municipal Corporation Gurugram to ensure on-ground compliance and prevent recurrence?

This reflects a clear enforcement breakdown at the site level.

Commuters continue to be involuntarily exposed to toxic emissions while waiting at the bus stand. PM2.5 exposure in such conditions is a daily public health risk.

Immediate enforcement action and accountability are required to stop recurrence.

Yet:

So who is accountable?

Commuters are breathing toxic air daily.
3 years of reporting this pollution hotspot - and still no enforcement.
