SAORI Weaving - The Journey Begins https://t.co/H79XUQue71
I'm re-sharing my first blog entry for Intuitive Threads. It's interesting to reflect on where I was this time last year.
I've just posted my latest blog for my Intuitive Threads DYCP project. This one is a closer look at the ethos of SAORI weaving. to me it has so much to offer in informing and understanding an intuitive creative process.

As children, we create a fantasy that someone will rescue us. We spend time alone. Lost in our imagination. Or full of anxiety. One day we wake up and realize the person we're waiting for is ourselves.
This is the start of a healing journey.
Sensitivity often goes hand in hand with creativity. The same depth of feeling that sometimes makes the world overwhelming also fuels creative energy. Sensitive souls have a rich inner life that often manifests in art, writing, or music.
Introverts are the quiet change-makers of the world. The ones behind the scenes, stumbling on new ideas, weaving masterpieces, and breaking fresh ground. The ones who observe, think, and then act.

Mental health isn’t separate from physical health. Our immune system and nervous system are in direct communication with our brain. Treatment needs to involve nutrition, movement, and the building of secure relationships.

Intuition Vs overthinking - Getting caught in the trap of over thinking. Perhaps due to the slower pace I found the weaving process taking. I had time between creative decisions to over think the next move or the way I’d like the final piece to look.

So tired and sore after the first night of Glastonbury. Didn’t get to sleep until gone 2am after watching the headliner. Feel like I need a week to recover and it was only the first night. Not sure how I’m going to get through another day of it but it’s a great atmosphere so we go again!
Quite relieved I’m only watching it on the telly.
As far as I can tell, mental health awareness weeks are often little better than public campaigns to further entrench the individualising, pathologising and depoliticising model of mental distress; exonerating wider social-cultural injustices & inequalities from responsibility.
