3) Why can’t we take an honest look at ourselves more and admit the solution(s) are not difficult to find. In fact, we have the solutions, but we refuse to accept an implement evidence base practice. At what cost will we stop and reflect and act accordingly?

1) This has been a growing state of emergency since 2017. The trends are in black-and-white. The data is there. The societal impact when strategies for addressing challenging issues are ineffective. We see this happening over and over and everywhere.

2) Politicians have no business being anywhere near drug policies. what’s happening in Belleville is proof of that. This also isn’t a criminal justice issue. It’s a healthcare issue.

BC United @elenoresturko's recent appearance in a U.S. war on drugs click-bait propaganda film shows incredibly poor judgment. Her appearance as a public official is used at the end to validate misinformation, stigmatization & populist backlash. She should distance herself from this video & apologize.

The unfortunate reality is it's always been easier to access unregulated illegal drugs than it has been to access detox and treatment. Imagine if it was the same — we would help a lot more people who are ready!
