To: Energy investors and Energy Industry Players

Both Pumped Energy Storage Hydropower plants and Battery Energy Storage Systems can convert “illegal dumping of electricity” into a) an investment opportunities and b) energy security for the country.

The Regulator needs to set up the framework and the investors put up Energy Storage Systems. Then we have a win-win situation for Prosumers, Investors and Consumers.

Example;
Kyushu Japan has about 60,000 sites generating electricity from solar panels at 100/200V to 66kV. The total generated is 11GW.

The “afternoon excess” solar power is used to pump water up a nearby 600MW pumped storage hydro plants for peak hours.

The price difference between “purchasing excess” solar power and “generating hydro during peak hours” makes the plant viable
