One of the rarest moments in cricket history happened during a match between New Zealand and Australia where a team scored 8 runs from a 1 ball🤯

Australian batter Andrew Symonds played an unusual slap shot towards the deep boundary. The boundary was quite large, and before the fielder’s throw could reach the wicketkeeper, Symonds and his partner had almost completed four runs.

However, Symonds was well short of his crease while attempting the fourth run. New Zealand wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum had a great chance to run him out. Instead of collecting the throw and completing the run-out, McCullum rushed and attempted a direct throw at the stumps.

The throw missed completely and raced away to the boundary for four overthrows.😂

As a result, Australia scored a total of 8 runs from a single ball — 4 runs from running between the wickets and another 4 runs from the overthrow.

A bizarre sequence of events, and one of the rare occasions in cricket history where a batter ended up with 8 runs from just one delivery.
