@LNER my 17:30 from King’sX was delayed leaving and conductor advised boarding different train scheduled to depart at 18:00, which I did. This train has not yet reached York. The 19:42 from York looks like it was held to meet my original train so DelayRepay won’t accept my claim.
Attendees at the #RDconf last Saturday voted on an emergency motion to show their opposition to the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of a woman.

@1goodtern Trump's deletion of all CDC pages with "LGBTQ" is the digital version of the Nazi book-burning of the Berlin Institute of Sexology in 1933.
It took the Nazis 4 months after Hitler's inauguration before they did that.
Trump did it in 11 days.

@AutisticCallum_ I really dislike sparkling water, but on holiday recently a waiter asked if I wanted water ‘with sparkles’ and now I’m torn because that sounds delightful.
Had some fun with Google Trends (USA, 2004-present)--bottom line, people aren't searching covid/long covid as much, and acute breathing problems are down, but many other searches are very telling.....
I had an extremely weird conversation this morning with an aeronautical engineer who is wrestling with designing the next generation of planes and part of his focus is in strengthening the airframes to handle the worsening storms and extremes of weather of the next 30 years.
This has to be the worst value sandwich I’ve ever bought. Two little bits of chicken filling less than half the baguette! I’m still hungry thanks to @PAUL__France
I hate to be That Librarian but I need you all to know how many of twitter’s current “share a story about yourself or a photo of you in shades” type memes are possible ways to determine passwords/security info and contribute to facial recognition and other evils.
@RichardTWatson@ItsSamG I’m trying to get my wife to unlearn this! Her family are too middle class to ask for things directly and she’s learned to say ‘would you like x?’ instead of ‘please can I have x?’, and ‘you can do x if you like’ rather than ‘please can you do x?’ It makes me so irritated! 😖😡
@thartman2u @carrieprice78 Wait though, if ‘MEDLARS’ is an acronym from ‘Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System’ then shouldn’t it be ‘MedLARS’, and if ‘MEDLINE’ is a contraction of ‘MedLARS Online’ then shouldn’t it be ‘Medline’?? 😱
@Sonia_Sparkles These are lovely and clear Sonia. On this one though, on the left it says seen by a doctor before 10am and on the right it says before midday. Apologies if you’ve already noticed that!
