We must now take this fight back the Commons!
BREAKING: This government's cruel plan to send people seeking asylum to Rwanda is UNLAWFUL.
This is a HUGE win. The UK wants hope not hostility.

🎉✊UK gov has finally confirmed that the #RightsRemovalBill is dead. Proud to have been part of a coalition of orgs fighting against the bill, which would have stripped our rights and harmed people who move alongside other marginalised communities

Visited a family who have been living in temporary accommodation in Newham since 2018.
The family of 7 all sleep in one room on blow-up beds and sofas because black mould has infested every single room upstairs and is terrifying their kids, who think their house is cursed.
"The Conservative government has manufactured an artificial humanitarian crisis on British soil.. So they can say at the next election that they can offer the solution to it.. But if they just made the decisions, there would not be a problem."
Hard truth from @ZoeJardiniere
It's a good time to remember that the Chairman of the BBC is Richard Sharp, someone who's donated £400,000+ to the Conservatives and helped Boris Johnson with an £800,000 loan.
Let's remember that when they talk about BBC "impartiality".
People seeking asylum in this country make up only 0.18% of the population.
If they do have recourse to public funds, it is £37.75 a week. That is just over £5 per day.
In one year, Suella Braverman claimed £159,000 in expenses. That is £435 a day.
The @guardian and @ObserverUK investigation yesterday revealed appalling neglect of children who come to the UK alone seeking safety. We @refugeecouncil will be calling for urgent action to be taken to keep them safe

Honoured to be awarded (with @Klharron) the Beacon Bursary for my project collaborating with young people from migrant, refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds at @Coram to address ethnic health inequity from it’s roots: to understand how “ethnicity” is understood and captured.
There's no way to claim asylum without being in the UK. There are no safe & legal routes for the majority of the world's vulnerable people. You would have to get on a dinghy.Thank you @timloughton for so gently & graciously showing the fundamental flaw in our immigration system.
The Family Reunion Bill seeks to
✅allow refugees, including children, to sponsor their parents and siblings
✅reintroduce legal aid for family reunion cases
✅ensure that all refugees can access family reunion equally, regardless of how they arrive in the UK.
Suella Braverman just referred to Channel crossings as an 'invasion on our southern coast'
The UK government's rhetoric around small boat arrivals has been hostile and dehumanising for some time, but this takes it to another level. It's the language of the far-right
