@BMcGrewvy I’m assuming Heathrow departure. Other variables to consider: airline, class of service, departure terminal, frequent flyer status, fastlane access, lounge access, etc. I prefer earlier flights for relatively easier post travel recovery.
This is what we did recently. Dropped bags off the previous evening at T5/BA counter. Free transit, Elizabeth Line or Heathrow Express to T3. Stayed at the IHG Holiday Inn Express, connected to T3. Hotel rate around USD 100. Surprisingly nice early breakfast at the HIE. Free transit back to T5. If flying economy, I would consider spending $400 for an upgrade to PE, sufficient for a day time flight.
Dear .@SingaporeAir it’s my wife’s birthday while we’re on SQ251. Tomson and Kelly are s some of your amazing associates who made it truly memorable, going above and beyond to help us celebrate in the air. Thank you!
Dear .@RoyalOmanPolice the @Budget at MCT airport wants to rent me a vehicle but would not provide me a legal rental agreement. I’ve been waiting for over 30 minutes but no rental agreement provisioned yet. Could you please help?
. @Budget your officer at the MCT airport location wants me to pick up and drive the car without a rental agreement. Is this standard practice? How is it even legal? The car is not full. The fuel is not marked. It’s already 30 minutes past the check out time. They refuse to give me the rental agreement.
Hello @AlaskaAir your system decided to celebrate 2026 ahead of schedule, and started expiring unused but still valid certificates. Thankfully, one of your great warriors, Lynda from Seattle, took charge & rescued the cert from abyss and brought it back to life. Happy 2026 ... but just wait a bit longer to celebrate. 🎇
@AmericanAir@HarmeetKDhillon Y’all at the social media team are an exception. Wished the rest of AA were being more like you. You’re catching a lot of flak for your colleagues’ poor attitudes and your management’s failures. Stay aawesome, as always :)
@ryanweather@jpkoch@SenTedCruz@SenatorCantwell Better operational strategy > “better physics” Note that IFS is hydrostatic! With all academic understanding, IFS simply can not be better. Instead, compute is directed toward where it matters for operational NWP.
Technically, these are “convection permitting” models at km-scales. Europe DestinE project is experimenting multiple digital twin applications, at 4-km resolutions. Computationally, MPAS-A scales very efficiently on CPU architectures. But ensembles might still be operationally prohibitive.
@fraveris Beautiful. The painter’s father was a professor of meteorology, a gentle giant who knew clouds as well as anyone else. The passion for the sky, the sun and the clouds is evident in the painter’s works. ❤️
