Very grateful for this cross-institutional collaboration with https://t.co/2pMaO8jNrW: new genome resources & genes cloned/characterized, and novel insights into wheat's evolutionary history.
Check out our recent preprint on the Aegilops tauschii pangenome facilitating gene discovery and providing new insights into origin and evolution of the bread wheat D genome. Emile @AndreaGonz64@AbroukMichael@simonkrattinger@BrandeWulff @kaustcda https://t.co/nFaHAvd64k
Out now from the Open Wild Wheat Consortium: ‘Origin and evolution of the bread wheat D genome’. 46 Tauschii genomes shed new light on the bread wheat D genome history. Almost 40% of the D genome gene content resulted from secondary hybridization events.

Very happy to present our review of the last 50 years of plant immunity - thanks to coauthors @bstask and Jeff Dangl https://t.co/Do2FcgXqik . Thanks to @MahmutTor for great cover pic. Apologies to all who feel we didn't do justice to their contribution - space was limited!
We are hiring: Postdoctoral position in engineering disease resistance into wheat

We could also report the total contribution of lineage 3 of Ae. tauschii in bread wheat gene pool which is about 16% incontrast to 1-2% reported previously. Contribution of different tauschii subpopulations provides new insights towards understanding of the origin of bread wheat
With this amazing resource, we cloned the leaf rust resistance gene Lr39 encoding a novel tandem kinase fusion protein and resolved the haplotype mystery of SrTA1662 (now Sr66).
