What insane framing in this @nytimes headline.
It’s not a “Debate,” it’s a GENOCIDE. She’s not “facing criticism,” she’s being ATTACKED for saying children should not be starved and killed.
@ZephyrTeachout@perrymetzger including (retweeting this,) hyping up exactly the legislative fear being discussed in this thread being accomplished / worked toward at the federal level

the 10-year AI regulatory moratorium proposal passed through @HouseCommerce tonight as part of reconciliation package. Congrats to @RepGuthrie and his team for pushing this important proposal through. More info on this effort in thread below.
Woah. The Abundance Institute backs a moratorium on state child social media laws that protect kids against AI harms, state cybersecurity laws related to AI, state consumer protection laws related to AI.
Mask off moment for Abundance: opposed to democracy in response to AI?!!!
Co-host of MSNBC’s The Weekend: Primetime Catherine Rampell (@crampell) asked Pulitzer Prize-winning Palestinian author @MosabAbuToha if he “would like to clarify” a Facebook post he wrote months ago about Israeli soldier Emily Damari, who was captured by Palestinian resistance fighters during the October 7 attacks.
Damari, recently freed, had expressed outrage at Abu Toha’s Pulitzer win in a letter to the Pulitzer board. She wrote: “He posted about me on Facebook and asked, ‘How on earth is this girl called a hostage?’”
Abu Toha, a poet and survivor of Israeli detention, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary for his dispatches from Gaza in The New Yorker, chronicling life under bombardment and siege. His recognition marked a rare acknowledgment of Palestinian narratives in U.S. media.
.@amanpour: Are you denying that people have died of starvation in Gaza, this is reported by international doctors and humanitarians, are you denying that seriously?
🇮🇱: These are complete lies…a lot of reporters prefer their data from Hamas
Amanpour: An American humanitarian org says, ‘Israel’s blockade—
🇮🇱: Well—
Amanpour: No listen, ‘the deliberate delays, denials…is an engineered system of deprivation’…I don’t understand what it gains you to allow women and children to starve
🇮🇱: It’s a lie
