Interesting article by @AP about Russian looting of Ukrainian museums. ICJI has had an active team working on Cultural Heritage crimes for two years now. @andcay

There’s only one reason for Russia to attack the historic Lviv city center, 1,000km west of the front lines, in broad daylight, and that’s to kill Ukrainian people and destroy their cultural heritage.
👏The @GP_Ukraine announced two Notices of Suspicion for the removal of 10,000+ objects from a museum in #Kherson. ICJI has had an active team working on Cultural Heritage crimes for 2 years now. @andcay

Modern art isn’t all bad. The Memorial to the Victims of Communism in Prague is extremely powerful. It captures how communism fragments and ultimately destroys the human person as each figure walking down the steps is more and more broken.
This a very significant development in the pursuit of accountability for the destruction and looting of Ukrainian Cultural heritage. We have been consistently working with Ukrainian prosecutors to ensure the strongest cases against those who attempt to erase Ukrainian culture.
Thank you to #Poland for this important arrest. ICJI legal experts have been providing critical support to Ukrainian authorities to further develop their capacities to investigate and prosecute crimes against heritage. https://t.co/dlDw6uX642 @andcay
This is atrocious. Smearing Maria Corina Machado as "far-right" is a major self-own. Not only did she risk her life to stand up to a dictator, but she's one of few prominent Venezuelans to...back gay marriage & medical marijuana.
Happy my taxpayer dollars no longer fund this.
At last, some moral clarity from a Western leader, with Prime Minister of Singapore saying his country would only recognize Palestinian state “when it has an effective government, that accepts Israel’s right to exist and categorically renounces terrorism.”
U uvjetima brojnih izazova i prijetnji, suradnja EU-a i SAD-a ostaje temelj globalne sigurnosti i stabilnosti.
An amazing @ASUCollegeOfLaw celebration honoring Madame President Ellen Sirleaf Johnson, the 10th recipient of the O’Connor Justice Prize. Justice Samuel Alito gave a beautiful speech in memory of Justice O’Connor.

Each day, we’re posting the story of a political prisoner in Russia.
Today, we’re telling you about Anna Bazhutova, a 31-year-old blogger from Moscow, who was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in a general-regime penal colony for a Twitch stream in June 2023. During the stream, she shared stories from residents of Bucha, exposing war crimes perpetrated by Russian soldiers in the region, which led to charges of "spreading false information about the Russian army." Anna was arrested on August 16, 2023, and has been in custody ever since.
Anna had been running her Twitch channel under the nickname YokoBovich since 2017, gaining over 9,000 followers. Although her channel was initially focused on entertainment, at some point, she began covering events related to the full-scale war against Ukraine. In her streams, Anna shared testimonies about atrocities, including the story of a girl who was assaulted by a Russian soldier.
Her words caused a stir not only among viewers but also among pro-war Telegram channels, which actively criticized her. According to the prosecution, she "caused significant damage to Russia’s public interests". Anna has been in custody for 449 days.
Memorial demands the release of Anna Bazhutova and all other political prisoners in Russia.
