Fun fact: I met @VitalikButerin in 2013 at the San Jose Bitcoin conference when he was writing for Bitcoin Magazine (his writing was great).

A few months later I invited him to come by Coinbase's first office in San Francisco for a visit and he showed us some cool stuff on his laptop. Fred, Olaf, and I decided we should try to hire him, and reached out to see if he would be interested in joining us. But due to a series of circumstances, including him not being able to get a work visa in the U.S., it didn't work out and he had to go back to Canada.

While he was stuck in Canada he created Ethereum. So, in a way, the sub-optimal immigration system in the U.S. contributed to the creation of Ethereum.

È anche disponibile la primissima versione in early-release. Si tratta di una primissima bozza contenente solamente tre capitoli, ancora potenzialmente da ritoccare con disegni da rifare...

È con grandissimo onore che annuncio che io, @ManInBlackie e @idrocortisone stiamo scrivendo la seconda edizione del capolavoro “Mastering Ethereum” di @aantonop e @gavofyork.

Se penso a quando ho letto per la prima volta “Mastering Bitcoin” e poi “Mastering Ethereum”, mai mi sarei sognato di trovarmi un giorno tra gli autori di uno di questi libri. Sono senza dubbio le opere che hanno contribuito maggiormente a far appassionare un numero immenso di persone a questo settore, raccontando e spiegando la vera tecnologia che si cela dietro questi progetti rivoluzionari.

Per quanto riguarda la mia storia personale, questi libri sono probabilmente quelli che più hanno influenzato la mia carriera. Se oggi sono qui a condividere questo splendido annuncio, è anche grazie a loro, alla passione e alla conoscenza che mi hanno trasmesso, e che oggi cerco di trasmettere a tutti voi tramite il mio lavoro di divulgazione. Inoltre, rappresentano per me un punto di riferimento nella divulgazione su questo settore.

Ci tengo a ringraziare personalmente @maninblackie per avermi coinvolto in questo progetto e per avermi dato la possibilità di contribuire a questo lavoro.

The moment has finally come to reveal this long-awaited announcement that we’ve been holding onto for the past two weeks.

It is with great honor that I announce that @ManInBlackie , @idrocortisone and I are writing the second edition of the masterpiece “Mastering Ethereum” by @aantonop and @gavofyork.

When I first read “Mastering Bitcoin” and then “Mastering Ethereum,” I never dreamed that one day I would be among the authors of one of these books. These are undoubtedly the books that have most contributed to sparking the interest of a huge number of people in this field, explaining and revealing the true technology behind these revolutionary projects.

As for my personal journey, these books have probably been the most influential in my career. If I am here today sharing this wonderful announcement, it is also thanks to them, to the passion and knowledge they have instilled in me, and that I now strive to pass on to all of you through my educational work. Moreover, they are one of my main references in this field of communication.

I would like to personally thank @maninblackie for involving me in this project and for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this work.

The second edition of “Mastering Ethereum” will be officially published around the fall of 2025, but a pre-release containing small excerpts of what will be this new edition will be released shortly.
