@mashupmath My struggle with the use of these has always been the teachers who teach them like they are the actual name of the skill. I cannot tell you how many times Iโve had to reteach that BEDMAS (or PEDMAS) FOIL and SOHCAHTOA were not actually words in math!
@TheSwedishIvy And also not the best choice for all parents!
And not affordable as a choice for many single parent/financially challenged/health challenged families
@d_l_mayfield Totally! We took our two out to eat on a patio (7 and 9) and spent a good deal of time explaining to them how we behave in a restaurant and giving apologies to the wait staff!
@sheilagregoire and Jesusโ response to list was not to point to the other person to change their pants rather to pluck out your own eye - I was told I was unloving. My daughter deserves better than this! 2/2
@sheilagregoire I once pointed out to someone that ihe bible reference โnot causing someone to stumbleโ was always in reference to judging another 1/2
@themasters288@CheriDiNovo@fordnation A qualified day care provider is only allowed a 6 to 1 ratio, and although Iโm sure they are good people throwing them in with 20+ students and no formal training ... Well thatโs just not safe for the student or the supervisor!
@mathematize4all Someone once said to me โRemember if youโve met one person with autism, youโve met ONE person with autism.โ I think the same thing can be said for all neurological differences!
Lamenting not being able to go outside with my virtual classroom I choose to combine a lesson by @MathletePearce with @PearDeck - It was a real win for student engagement and rich discussion with my ELL Grade 9 Math Class!
@dog_rates This is Poppy. She caught me off guard 8 weeks ago and I dislocated my shoulder and broke my humerus in the fall 8 weeks ago. She feels terrible, but also knows about bad math!
@JimLind13@KaitlynSchiess It also makes it impossible to mentor women into roles of leadership when all the leadership roles have been male dominated for so long!
@YourMajestiness@TheLucasBlack Just hyperbole. But itโs probably much higher if you think of all the countries in this world where school is not a necessity so put aside, also all the families in your own country who are run by a single parent or who require two incomes just to make ends meet.
