He’s treating belief that Read was wrongly prosecuted as evidence that a person is susceptible to “deranged online narratives” — w/o showing much curiosity about WHY distrust of that prosecution became so widespread here in MA

A strange place for @MattWalshBlog to land. Michael Morrissey is a decades-long Democratic political fixture whose office, along with the MSP investigation, came under EXTRAordinart scrutiny in this case.

In virtually ANY other context, that’s exactly the kind of entrenched blue-state institution Walsh would instinctively interrogate rather than ask his audience to trust.

@MattWalshBlog should certainly tread lightly (or just do the research) re: Read if you don’t want MA conservatives knowing how lazy you can be, especially when you’re mad but doubling down doesn’t make you any righter.

Hi Kylie! Very interesting indeed! It certainly undermines attempts to use the original suicide ruling to defend the investigation. 🤷‍♀️ Relying on that medical conclusion as vindication of the police is very silly when federal prosecutors say the ME wasn't given .....critical investigative information. 😉🫶 wish I were in Australia, btw I have too many friends I haven't visited yet that live all over!!

You asked what charges could potentially apply to Fanning. @kim_gribbo50419 identified them. Then came “Why haven't the feds charged him?” as though anyone here can explain DOJ's internal charging timeline decisions.

Fanning supervised the Birchmore investigation & interviewed Farwell w/o recording it. Investigators (Fanning) 'apparently' abandoned efforts to obtain his DNA after he refused.

Federal prosecutors now allege that Fanning & his unit failed to verify Farwell's claims & left the ME w/o critical investigative updates before her initial suicide ruling—which, of course, was changed to undetermined.

How does the absence of charges against him erase any of this????

Under AZ Revised Statutes § 14-1107, death can be est. thru clear & convincing circumstantial evidence before five yrs have elapsed.
Otherwise, five yrs of unexplained absence can trigger a legal presumption of death.
The issue is whether the evidence justifies it how quickly authorities might reach that conclusion.
