Excited to see the long vacant property (that used to be a CVS) at the corner of 54th St and 31st Ave will be welcoming a new supermarket. A much needed and welcome addition to the neighborhood!
Blatant corruption.
Pay-to-play schemes.
Trump continues to use the presidency to line his own pockets.
@RepHuffman lays out exactly what’s happening. We need immediate bi-partisan legislation to ensure no one can ever exploit our system like this again.
Incredibly proud of the campaign Assemblymember Raga and his team put together. It was a real honor to get to know him over these last couple of months volunteering on his campaign. I know he’s going to crush whatever he decides to do next.
Thank you, Queens.
Together, we built something more than a campaign. We built a people-powered movement rooted in Western Queens and powered by immigrants, workers, tenants, union members, families, and neighbors fighting for a government that delivers.
This campaign may be ending, but the work continues.
Welcome to Albany, @Brianr4NY ! A longtime Queens chapter member and a relentless fighter for working people is taking that fight to Albany.
Congratulations on your victory tonight, Brian!
Also if you live in Assembly District 34 (Astoria, Corona, East Elmhurst, Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and Woodside) Part A, you have some party positions on your ballot.
I encourage a vote for @andreasmigias and @CarolinaKorth to be your Democratic District Leaders!
Trump is functionally shutting down all of NYC and ruining millions of commutes home from work and to watch parties, just so he can go watch a basketball game in person. And the worst part is, he’ll probably ending up jinxing the Knicks too.
Starting at 4pm today, vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be closed from West 30th Street to West 35th Street between 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue.
No one will be allowed inside the secure area unless you have a ticket to the game, a train ticket, are going to a business inside the area, have credentials, or have some other authorized reason to be there.
Supreme Court today: We'll allow Alabama Republicans to change the congressional map in the primary election even though absentee voting has literally already started
Supreme Court last December: November's too late to strike down the GOP's map in TX's March primary election!!
Under Pete Buttigieg, there wasn’t a single major aviation crash/fatality
Our current DOT Sec, Sean Duffy, who has neglected his job to film a documentary, has yet another fatality under his watch today in Denver. And instead of taking responsibility, he’ll prob blame Biden.
Sean Duffy: Film road trip for seven months. Work, occasionally. The Transportation Secretary said he did manage to do ‘some work,’ while filming a full Trump-approved reality show with his family titled ‘The Great American Road Trip.’ https://t.co/tD5stnoQBs
The only way we’ll end this cycle is if Dems stop fighting w/one hand tied behind their backs
Aka NY & all Dem led states need 2 go through the process 2 redistrict in ‘28
Only then will GOP vote for national anti-gerrymandering (which Dems have been trying to get for decades)
Two last things before I shut up about this (I'm very annoyed, as you can tell).
1. This is a sad day for the legitimacy of our legal system. The Florida constitution explicitly says you can't gerrymander for partisan reasons, but everyone says they're all DeSantis stooges so they're just going to ignore it.
But in Virginia, when the VOTERS FREAKING VOTED on a referendum, it's going to get thrown out on a technicality post hoc. This is not a system where rules are applied uniformly, and people have the right to be frustrated at this double standard.
Clearly Louisiana and the US Supreme Court disagree because they are about to throw out over 100,000 votes so they can restart an election that has already begun. Why? Well obviously to draw out another Democrat from Congress.
NEW: By the time Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry suspended ongoing elections to give lawmakers time to redraw the state’s congressional map, roughly 42,000 Louisianans already cast their votes — and it’s likely many voted in the House primaries.
Now, their ballots are at risk of being thrown out. https://t.co/YGCUUE3UKX
Happy Pascha to all Orthodox Christians celebrating today!
Whether you are marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ with roasted lamb, lit candles in the streets, playing tsougrisma, or all of the above, I hope this day fills you with the spirit of renewal and joy.
Happy Greek Independence Day! Today marks 205 years of Greek independence from Ottoman occupation. A great day to reflect on the enduring legacy of Greek history, especially the democratic ideals that continue to shape the modern world today.
It was awesome to get out and petition earlier today with @Brianr4NY and @JohnScottforQNS to get ourselves on the ballot.
If you want to join us next time, please reach out to me!
Out today with our slate of incredible candidates in Astoria today. We’re getting signatures to get me, @andreasmigias, and @JohnScottforQNS on the ballot!
Join us to elect progressive Dems at every level of office 🙌🏼
Antitrust law MUST be enforced, on both the state and federal level, if we want to have a shot at lowering grocery prices.
This is a good video on how large companies and grocers illegally collude to set price floors on groceries.
NEW: Walmart found a creative, illegal way to make sure they have the lowest prices.
They're forcing companies to raise prices on any competitor who dares to sell items at a lower price than Walmart.
They're using their size and reach to squeeze out stores across America.
