The unsexy truth for the build in public hypeboys is that its not a lot of work or time to get a sexy demo, but it is a lot of work and time to translate that into meaningful value (a lot of that being non-technical). And I see too many people repeatedly celebrating the demo.
Demos are cool, don't get me wrong. But its the people who stick to an idea, grind on it for years, and build something really meaningful that deserve more praise and attention.
Also, build in public is ALSO cool. But that doesn't mean you have to have something super exciting to showcase every single day/week/month.
On AI spend.
Companies are spending more on data storage, processing and AI infra than inference and training (quite surprising to me)! Of course, AI talent is by far the most expensive line item.
