@falconerd Object Oriented is but ONE paradigm. It works well for making data containers, or where the problem lends itself to an object description.

OO goes wrong when it is (frequently) used in non-object circumstances.

It’s a tool in the programming toolbox. Useful, but not universal.

@reduzio Unfortunately industry hadn’t followed the direction of the Acorn BBC B and subsequently Archimedes which even in the early 80s had a neat hardware independent graphics API. The o/s supported all sorts of useful graphics techniques.

@KevEdwardsRetro It was a joy. I wrote a 6502 dissembler in, of course, assembler. The BBC o/s was extremely well designed too, with many powerful system calls, which made assembly code even easier. Not to mention the way it was integrated into BASIC.
