Sometimes the UX/design industry is so focused on fighting for a seat at the table that when they get it, they don't know what to do. A seat means little without a vision and plan. Getting the seat isn't the win. The win is in getting to do the hard work that comes next.

Interesting article… “teams need to embrace vulnerability in order to ‘lower the cost’ of taking risks. The safer team members feel with one another, the more likely they are to admit mistakes, to partner and to take on new roles...” https://t.co/2tDWf8JeW1
Great insight into what it takes to create a thriving digital team in government from @paulbellows - "it’s a people problem first, a cultural problem second, and a technology problem third" https://t.co/he3l481Hwf

Please join the fight against “Orgitis”, an all too common condition that leads organizations to believe the more websites, content or apps they publish, the more value they are creating. https://t.co/78lvzISzjK @gerrymcgovern
“You’re so good at this, now let’s make you stop doing it and go lead people now,” says @DominiraS
“We’re human centred humans but we don’t all want to manage people,” says @janegrl_inc
Panel agrees these are very different skillsets & we shouldn’t force ppl to manage

Empathy is often used as a way to avoid taking real action to provide representation & inclusion. Empathy training cannot replace having actual people implicated in the issues we're designing around involved in that process. Mike Monteiro #CanUX
