The Environment Department has rejected the EIA for the proposed rehabilitation of the closed Jelutong landfill and the adjacent land reclamation project, FMT reports.

The RM1 billion plan was intended to temporarily store unearthed waste before developing the reclaimed land.

Farm Fresh has confirmed that its farm director, Jacob Mathan, was the Malaysian killed in a helicopter crash in the Philippines.

The company said the helicopter experienced engine trouble during a routine visit to a potential farm site.

Farm Fresh Philippines CEO Shawn Pu was also on board and sustained injuries, but is now in stable condition, the company added.

I think this guideline is good for non Muslim as well. Sometimes, I find it difficult to even think of inviting muslim friends to my cultural or religious event as I don't know what's the do's and don'ts..so in the end, I didn't bother to invite. So, maybe the guideline is great.

The government is set to issue new guidelines for Muslim participation in Non-Muslim celebrations and ceremonies, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

He stated that the guidelines will be finalised during the 126th Meeting of the Muzakarah Committee of the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs Malaysia (MKI), scheduled to take place from February 25 to 27, 2025.

“Another guideline will be issued, namely, ‘Guidelines on the participation of Muslims in celebrations and funeral ceremonies of Non-Muslims, as well as visits and the organisation of events in Non-Muslim houses of worship.’

“These guidelines outline the participation of Muslims in non-Muslim celebrations,” he said in a Parliamentary written reply published late last night.
