Cognitive offloading is a major benefit of AI, but we need to watch out for Cognitive Surrender—deferring to AI entirely without verification.
Fascinating paper on this by Steven Shaw and Gideon Nave:

Loneliness may be an epidemic, but live events may be the medicine. Just published this blog post with @SPSPnews on research with @jholtlunstad@RelationScience@daisibrand on our research on live events with @eventbrite

@VinodSharma10x V0 is amazing and I've vibe coded a few simple apps (that worked) using it. I wrote all my R code in Claude for my dissertation stats and it blew my mind how good it was. Love your perspective (it's not too late to get in).
“What if an “average” life means a job that pays the bills, relationships that matter, and a home filled with laughter and dishes—not something to escape but something to honor?” Great piece by

Humans have respiratory "fingerprints" that reflect the brain drivers of respiration & predict physiological markers such as BMI as well as mood and cognition. Fascinating research out of Israel. I want to see wearable device data correlate with this next. https://t.co/UpFKHJyL0E
Connection is medicine.
Friendship might be more important for your health than diet or exercise.
We talked HRV, loneliness, resilience, and the neuroscience of belonging.

@tanyachen loved your piece on Her. Just good writing. I research social connection with AI and how it impacts our mental and physical health. Great article. Thanks.
Just published a new study in @NYASciences on social connection & health. 681 healthcare providers ranked social connection low compared to other health factors. 67% of providers said they have no time to address social factors. @jholtlunstad@tkmcudjoe https://t.co/qkBVGwyTn5
Just in! Research on how much we (US and UK) underestimate social connection for its impact on health and longevity. Really proud of this as it is my first, 1st-author pub in a scientific journal. Thanks @jholtlunstad for your mentorship. https://t.co/eIXhlmMomx
@venturetwins I’m currently researching this too. 100 participants in to my study to see whether people feel as connected to an AI partner as they do to a human. We are also measuring HRV (an objective mental/physical stress biomarker) pre & post convo. Can’t wait to share findings later 2025
@venturetwins Here is another one that came out last year using Pi (which IMHO is superior in EQ to ChatGPT). Therapists couldn’t tell the difference between AI and therapist conversations. https://t.co/c2OIoN2gLC
For all of you wondering which AI tools can actually generate text on images, my buddy @JoshDance tested and created a great post about it here https://t.co/yqI0U6V4Mx
In case you haven't already, you should use @perplexity_ai. I rarely use Google to search and fact check anymore. Here are 10 more reasons to use it: https://t.co/A8jo2o4Ykr This is not an ad. Just great user experience. Thanks @nonmayorpete and @noahedelman02
New friendship study: Americans reported having more friends & fewer were friendless. They also want more closeness with friends; over 40% felt they weren't as close to their friends as they would like. https://t.co/7mauUHna3N good work Jeff Hall at @KUCommStudies
Where do you get your protein? I eat mostly plant, which has always made me think I’m not getting enough protein. But my fam hist of heart disease drives me toward plant. This episode from @theproof & @MdMsci was balanced on the often polarizing topic https://t.co/pzorDCCgeZ
