@GavinSBaker Expert networks scale easily, which is where the comparison breaks down. Making scaled, reliable ‘alt’ data is challenging. Lots of investment required without certainty of ROI. Should result in a small number of larger players over time.
@GavinSBaker Self-serving but completely agree. Reminiscent of early expert network days, where funds warned GLG not to take on more than 100 clients bc the alpha would evaporate. It quickly became table stakes for everyone (not to mention an insanely profitable biz).
