You were told mathematics began with the Greeks or the Arabs. 🤔

Three carved chalk drums from a Yorkshire grave might prove otherwise. 🥁🇬🇧

In 1889 they were found buried with a five year old child. For 130 years nobody knew what they were for. ⏳

Then in 2018 researchers measured them. The proportions appear to encode a standard unit of length. 📏

Wind a cord ten times around the smallest drum and you get the “long foot”, about 32cm. The same unit researchers believe was used to lay out Stonehenge. 🪨

A fourth drum later turned up over 200 miles south in Sussex. Same measurements. The chalk ones were likely replicas of working tools carved in wood. 🪵

Not in a king’s grave. Not in a treasury. Buried with a small child, so the knowledge would be remembered. 🕯️

British people were measuring the world before England had a name. 🇬🇧

Long before we had a name, this island was measuring the world.

🇬🇧 Caesar called them barbarians. They had already made THIS. 🛡️

In 1857, dredgers clearing the Thames near Chelsea Bridge pulled something from the silt 🌊

They washed it clean.

A bronze shield. 27 red glass studs. Worked by hand 🛡️

The dredger had never seen anything like it.

This is the story of the Battersea Shield 🇬🇧

It was sent to the British Museum 🏛️ The curators dated it to the late Iron Age. 2,000 years old. Older than England. Older than Rome's arrival here.

Who made it?

Britons did. At a workbench in a roundhouse, by firelight 🔥 They beat the bronze. They set the red glass. It took months.

But this shield was not for battle ⚔️ The bronze was too thin to stop a blade.

It was made to be given.

Their rivers were sacred. At dawn 🌅 they raised the shield. And gave it to the Thames 🌊

It sank.

The Romans wrote them down ✍️ Julius Caesar 📜 wrote that the barbaric Britons painted themselves blue. But this shield was already centuries old when he wrote that. Its makers knew how to set red glass into bronze.

2,000 years passed. Rome came. And went. Saxons came. Normans came. England rose. Britain rose. The shield stayed where it was.

Until 1857.

Now it hangs in the British Museum 🏛️

It is one of many.

Stone by stone. Shield by shield 🛡️

Made by Britons. Inherited by the British 🇬🇧

Will you help us spread our history to those who need to hear? 👇🙏

Let’s have a think about what’s happening in Makerfield.

This by election is costing taxpayers £226,208. And it’s happening because a Labour MP chose to step aside to make room for Andy Burnham’s leadership ambitions. He admitted that himself.

But here’s some more interesting figures.

If Burnham wins, he’ll have to resign as Greater Manchester Mayor too. That triggers another election costing taxpayers around £4.7 million.

So in total, nearly £5 million of public money could be spent not on improving services, fixing roads, supporting communities or helping struggling families, but on political career ambitions.

People are struggling with bills, crime, NHS waiting lists and communities being ignored. Yet Westminster politics still seems focused on who climbs the ladder next.

That’s what frustrates people. Not democracy. Political games made to look like democracy.

🚨PAY ATTENTION ALL UK ACCOUNTS🚨

Under updated CPS guidance, prosecutors have been asked to consider how footage and images of the Unite the Kingdom event (and others) when shared online, could be viewed in terms of their wider impact and audience reach.

That means if you film or photograph it and upload it to social media, or SHARE footage you see online, the authorities may assess not only what appears in the background of your video or images, but also the wider context! including captions, hashtags, edits, and comments, when considering whether posts may fall within offences under the Public Order Act 1986 relating to stirring up racial or religious hatred.

Now even recording reality in public can be treated differently depending on how it is presented online.

Nothing dystopian about that, of course. It’s sanitised for you safety.

As Gordon comes in to “save” the economy it’s worth remembering 2010,

when Nigel Farage was an MEP in the European Parliament and Gordon Brown was Prime Minister.

Starmer thinks we’ve forgotten. We haven’t!

🇬🇧 Most British schoolchildren are taught about Magna Carta.

They are taught it was sealed in twelve fifteen at Runnymede.

They are taught it is the foundation of English liberty.

They are taught it is one of the most important documents in human history.

They are not taught what came next.

They are not taught about the eighty years between twelve fifteen and twelve ninety-five when ordinary Englishmen forced three successive kings to write down, for the first time in any kingdom in medieval Europe, what English law was, what English liberty was, and how an English king must govern.

They are not taught about the Charter of the Forest, which restored the right to graze, gather firewood, and live on common land, and which remained in force for seven hundred and fifty-four years.

They are not taught about the Provisions of Oxford in twelve fifty-eight, often called England's first written constitution, which placed the king under a council of fifteen and required Parliament to meet three times a year.

They are not taught about the Provisions of Westminster in twelve fifty-nine, which subjected the barons themselves to the same law they had forced upon the king.

They are not taught about Simon de Montfort, an earl born in France who died for England, who summoned the first Parliament in English history to include ordinary commoners alongside the great lords.

They are not taught about the Statute of Marlborough in twelve sixty-seven, which is the oldest piece of statute law in the United Kingdom still in force today. ⚖️

Seven hundred and fifty-nine years old.

If you've ever taken a debt to court in England, you've used it. 🏠 If you've ever rented a home, you've been protected by it. 👑 If a creditor can't lawfully drag your possessions into the street to settle what you owe, that's because of a law signed seven hundred and fifty-nine years ago.

They are not taught about the Model Parliament of twelve ninety-five, summoned by Edward the First, which became the shape of every English Parliament since.

Eighty years. Three successive kings. The first written constitution in any kingdom in medieval Europe.
It was not given to them. It was not handed down from God or king or Pope.

✍️ It was written. By Englishmen. For England.

🇬🇧 The British write their own history. They always have.

This one needed more than a thread. The full story is in our video, watch it below 👇

NHS DESTROYED THE WOMAN WHO CAUGHT ITS DOCTORS STEALING FROM IT

Sharmila Chowdhury @sharmilaxx gave 30 years of spotless service to the @NHS. Not one disciplinary mark. Not one complaint. She was the budget holder for radiology at Ealing Hospital NHS Trust, which means she could see exactly where the money was going.

What she saw was two consultant radiologists billing the NHS for shifts they were spending at a private hospital down the road. The Trust lost £250,000 of public money through those arrangements.

She reported it to her line manager. Her medical director. HR. Counter Fraud. The Department of Health. The Treasury. Number 10.

She had a paper trail so airtight that @ITV undercover surveillance later caught the same consultants still absent during paid hours, and caught Miranda Harvie and Akkib Rafique taking direct cash payments from patients for private ultrasounds inside the NHS building, money going straight into their own account.

So what did the Trust do with this documented, camera-confirmed, publicly broadcast fraud?

They sacked her. On fabricated counter-allegations from a subordinate she had herself reported for breaching patient safety. The man who filed those allegations later sent an email signed off with "0800-F***-YOU-B****." He received a Top Mentor award from the Trust that same year.

Sharmila won the Interim Relief Hearing. She won the internal appeal. The judge asked the Trust to reinstate her. The Trust said no and refused to let her return. She was blacklisted. Job offers were withdrawn the moment employers discovered who she was. She settled out of court in 2012 with two years pay, out of which she had to pay £77,500 in legal fees alone. 38 Degrees38 Degrees

In July 2013, she was diagnosed with breast and lung cancer. Multiple consultants believe this is a direct result of the sustained stress of her treatment as a whistleblower.

The consultants she reported kept their jobs.

George Osborne said he could not get involved. Andrew Lansley said he could not get involved. David Cameron said he could not get involved. Every single official body, every single minister, every single department looked at a proven, camera-documented NHS fraud case and decided it was an employment matter.

Oh it’s brilliant. This is Starmer in 2020

I suggest he watches this on loop
