What’s rich is the failure to recognize the belief that Chris Klieman and Kansas State kept in him after a horrible first two seasons. That kind of performance would have had Ohio State, and other programs like it, kick him out of town and outcasted him to the Group of Five level where his career could have turned to rubble. Instead, the Wildcats stayed with him, continued to give him a roster spot when many other Power Four programs wouldn’t have according to his results and gave him the platform and opportunity to make something of himself. So, no, sorry that I also won’t throw the pity party for him that he wants. Like nearly every other professional quarterback in the league, he could have turned down the interview and remained grateful for what Kansas State afforded him. Without the K-State staff continuing to believe in him when nobody else would, Ohio State never happens.
