@dude_basu Makes sense. There is a reason why I asked this question. I agree that during that time it was a mess. But between that time and now, government has implemented blue flag project (in phases) and by now around 60 percent of the beach area looks like the pic I have uploaded.
@chennaicorp@TVKVijayHQ Beyond encroachment, this is a public health and sanitation issue. It’s surprising that people support these types of practices without any regards to the health/sanitation aspect. Requesting authorities to seriously look into this matter. @chennaicorp@TVKVijayHQ@kgbias
There are many Sunday roadside markets functioning across Chennai on footpaths. While the concept of neighbourhood Sunday markets is great, these must not exist in dusty unhygienic environments. It is concerning to see food items including fish, being sold amid dust and traffic.
@UpdatesChennai@CMOTamilnadu Need CMDA to create new planned residential layouts around Chennai. There was a plan to create one such in Thirumazhisai which didn't take off unfortunately. Hope that original plan is reinstated plus new areas are identified for building new layouts.
@msg90_tweets As if the prices in these outskirts are reasonable. Prices for everything upto 40 kms west and south of Chennai are disproportionately inflated. Why pay huge amount of money to live in a dystopian urban village and travel 1 to 1.5 hours to work in the city daily?
@AnjaliMody1@kgbias@chennaicorp It's not the expensive. If destroyed, it can be built again. Doesn't mean it shouldn't be built. Worst case scenario, funds for upkeep dries up and these ceases to exist, still need to consider it as good while it lasted. No harm done while it existed.
@UpdatesChennai@kgbias Looks like the prospects for Brigade Xanadu apartments (visible in the background) has now skyrocketed. Previously eventhough a luxury apartment project, it was embedded between 4th world level streets making it unattractive to some extend. (Note: Now upgraded to 3rd world level)
@jvidyasagar Just assume that they combined the purple and red lines into a single stretch, and it becomes easier to imagine. This is brilliant in fact since some of the intermediate residential areas gets connected to both OMR and the porur area this way without the need of an interchange.
@UpdatesChennai Chennai developers really need to spend money on hiring some better architects. Baashyam crown and now this one, both look like designs from early 2000s.
