@AllisonCross That's the difference between preparing and actively enduring I guess. (Probably a good sign not to have a preferred disaster-related junk food.)
@JaBogen Oh man, yes, this is so hard. It's just so much. Definitely lean on screen time. Also, if weather allows, I definitely get out to a park or for a walk after dinner/before bath just for a break. Also, taping big paper to the wall and letting the kids go to town with crayons.
I mean, maybe it isn't fanfic yet, but my 4-year-old regularly requests I make up stories about The Octonauts going to the Shawn the Sheep farm, so... This strikes me as super normal by 13?
Kids have incredibly complex interior worlds. Maybe some parents just aren't invited in.
reply to this message describing the fanfic you were writing/drawing when you were 13, because parents who watched Turning Red are obviously mentally out of touch
mine was a two book series that involved, among many other derivative things, me flying an Arwing
@sofipapamarko Whether my kids are not sleeping well, my mum likes to tell me that my two sisters and I *never* went through sleep regression, which seems deeply unlikely.
@cciccone Honestly not sure yet. The Quebec guidelines are a literal nightmare, so waiting to here if our daycare will be changing policies to follow them or continue with what's already in place (which has worked so well we haven't had a single case yet...)
Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé said in the face of the variant, which appears to be doubling its spread every few days, the government had to take action to prevent the health care system from becoming overwhelmed. https://t.co/Q6byB0Q0PT
@AllisonCross I ordered these and am hoping they'll fit my 4-year-old. Slightly lower age range (3-11) is giving me a little hope. Will report back once they arrive.
@amil The Abbaye St-Benoit does silent retreats and I used to think that was nuts but increasingly (ie. now that I have two kids) think it sounds blissful. You could probably write there if you don't use a clacky keyboard...
