News of the day at #BonnClimateConference: failure to agree on agenda. This procedural dispute is about financial commitments that must be met. But the call to take mitigation off the agenda in the midst of a climate emergency did seem a bit ironic.

Dr. Lisa Graumlich, @theAGU, introduced their vision statement of ethical framework for climate intervention to guide research, experiments and deployment globally. AGU neutral on #oCDR, stresses agreeing a framework doesn't make deployment inevitable.

Prof Levin urged the #stocktake to reflect existing role that oceans play in carbon cycle and climate solutions like ocean-based renewable energy. She cautioned that all forms of oCDR have ecosystem impacts and none are proven, thus the precautionary principle should prevail.
