@SophiaWilson77 AI deep-learning tools not only allow for the possibility of automated content but also for it to be deeply personalized. I believe this kind of curation will only amplify selective exposure as news organizations move toward utilizing systems to increase user engagement.
@ZTzanis Since the biggest changes in someone's opinion happen within close relationships, I would start with having thoughtful conversations with my family and friends. It is challenging to persuade someone to act upon something unless they feel understood and heard, especially locally.
After taking this class, how much do you trust news organizations? Which of the principles from Toff's study on how audiences judge trust do you find yourself adhering to (familiarity, socialization, etc)? #J349
The blurred line between news and entertainment is one of mentioned criticisms for the media as overall trust in institutions declines. How can newsrooms address this concern, and should there be regulations on separating the two? #J349
@ro_furnish Within newsrooms, journalists must be trained to be better fact-checkers. It is impossible to build trust from the outside if the journalists themselves have a shaky relationship with their internal system. In the 2024 election, fact-checking and verification should come first.
@RHopper31 When it comes to combining both the libertarian and the democratic models in the digital age, newsrooms should ask themselves why they do the work they do. Journalism in the digital age is flexible. The two models can coexist if they are exercised with purpose.

@smackbunnybaby It is important to remember that each news feed experience is curated on unique data and metrics. Based on the user's likes, shares, and interactions online, algorithms are an ecosystem that makes it easy for someone to slip into echo chambers and lean on the pillar bias.
@RyanCerna2 The first prediction that comes to mind with the rise of algorithm-driven apps such as TikTok is an increase in auto-generated content. I think social natives will enjoy a peak in packaged 10 second videos with AI voice-over over it, for better or for worse.
