day 5 of self paced gitlab learning and admittedly a slow day due to my own distraction with market volatility. used the limited time to reinforce concepts. overall i have the hang of how things must flow but dont think i have scratched the surface of all gitlab commands

Fairly straightforward but it was tricky ensuring the sequencing in the yml. Initial attempts led to the deploy completing before the manual approval.

Day 4 of self paced gitlab learning and the focus today was to add a manual gate after build and before the deploy job.

This is where I am realizing the growing complexity of the gitlab-ci yml files. Kinda fun resolving the "it works on my local" dilemma.

Key takeaway from Day 2 of self paced gitlab learning and cant help but feel how brilliant it is for every step of the release to be mapped in one single yml file. Linking yml and runners is ridiculously simple.

Is learning GitLab a good entry into DevOps? I setup a basic hello world app with a templatized yml file. Looking forward to exploring this more.
