@alxfazio I used it for a while but it never stuck and it felt a lot less easy to just get stuck in than something like Grok Bot/Hermes.
I know it's more of a paradigm shifting approach to how you work with AI but again, it didn't land.
Also self hosting it kept bugging out.
@iruletheworldmo I tried it today after a long hiatus... I am shook - it got so good. Computer use, voice mode, seemingly just way smarter (perhaps Opus 5.5).
@TheRohanVarma@TheRohanVarma I can't get my dot to behave like codex, I ask it to take actions on my computer and it just never does them.
Is there some setting I'm missing?
I'm an openai fan, so this is not me trying to be a detractor for detractor's sake, but I've really struggled with dots, and that's coming from being an early adopter of OpenClaw, Hermes agent and now testing more polished market-ready solutions like Grok bot and Muse.
Dot so far has been the most inconsistent and frustrating experience I've had but I can see glimpses of how good it could be.
But it feels like things that Codex can do on my computer dot sometimes somehow struggles to do. Which doesn't make sense to me.
It's struggling to interact with applications that Codex has no issue interacting with and does so very quickly.
I have a diary entry skill that has never failed once with codex. I saw dot as a much easier way to just click into voice mode from the home page and ask it to start my journal skill. The first time I asked it, it got puzzled about this skill, but I told it to go get it and subsequent requests for this skill now come quickly.
However, on my first diary entry, I finished it and it told me it was writing it to my note-taking app on my Mac, and then it apologized that it hadn't recorded the first half of the diary entry, and that the diary entry was coming through in sections to it.
Super strange behaviour and frankly, Muse, which is a crazy thing to say, is just far superior at this point.
@hollllyli@thenanyu You handled it incredibly well and kept super composed - the cursed tech demo lore continues but I thought your presentation skills were excellent!
