This was a true team effort. Huge congratulations to the lead author @ezra_wn, who drove this project and just successfully defended his PhD yesterday! @UTDResearch@BBSutdallas
And to our collaborators at UT Dallas' @CVLneuro, Technion, Columbia’s @ZuckermanBrain, and the Allen Institute — especially co-senior author @ItamarKahn, whose group did the mouse imaging.
Grateful for the talented team across all sites, including: @eyalbergmann@Micaela__Chan@vill_gabriella
This is the first paper from our growing multi-species program on brain network aging — more to come!
@NIHAging@JSMF@animalsocaging
🎉Huge congratulations to McEwen fellow @ezra_wn and Pilot awardee @GaganWig of UT Dallas on their recent publication in PNAS on large-scale brain network decline across aging mice and humans and its translational relevance. Read the paper here:

The second of two 2026 Network-the-networks meetings concluded successfully at the University of Minnesota earlier this week. We are so grateful for all who attended and look forward to the collaborations that will no doubt result between invited network representatives!
Our first of two Network-the-networks meeting was recently organized and conducted at Arizona State University by @SMack_Lab. Thanks to all representatives of the networks who participated to "diversify the animal taxa used in the study of social determinants of aging"!
Our New Paper is out in Nature Human Behaviour: 🚨 Culture is critical in driving orangutan diet development past individual potentials! 🦧 https://t.co/PE4XCwm3q7
