@Rahll I'm talking about your industry (not your management), the Hollywood machine, the Hollywood ecosystem which is highly unethical - abuse of power, portrayal of violence, gender pay gap, exploitation of workers, the use of NDAs to silence victims of abuse or harassment, etc...
@GuyGay33191 @Rahll Of course! If they improve the system things would be balanced. Execs & politicians love it as is. Nvidia got an all time high today. Nancy Pelosi cashed in. https://t.co/hY2HxI9QLx.
@Rahll Do you refuse a paycheck knowing somewhere in the corporate structure that you rely there are unethical practices? I'm not here to judge, but no one is a saint.
@Rahll We live in a system that promotes individual "greed" or wealth. Think about it from your own perspective. One of the biggest purveyors of corporate "greed" is Hollywood, but your job depends on those Hollywood economics. Would you quit your job in protest?
@GaryMarcus OpenAI most likely scrapped Claudine Gay and Neri Oxman too! This proliferation of popular plagiarists is persistently pilfering prose and perpetuating problematic practices!!!!
@Rahll@ThisIsRadinsky Without Nvidia GPUs Gen AI, the blockchain for NFTs, and simulations that require parallel processing would not be possible, (or, at least, extremely more time-consuming). And without gamers desiring more realistic graphics NVIDIA would not be possible. So twisted.
@themediacopilot@nytimes@OpenAI This happens all the time without AI - the one movie that comes to mind is Dr. Strange and the Multi-verse of madness supposedly ripping off a young game designer: https://t.co/ilIgLz47qL
@PaulTassi So no else can create images of a father and daughter hanging out in a field in Detroit (or a deserted town) because that IP is already taken? If this is from game, that game is copying from at least six other properties.
@GaryMarcus The artist goal should be originality, not copying to perfection. Couldn't plagiarism be flagged with embedding detection? https://t.co/57P16xrtEg and illegal copying be prevented with counterfeit deterrence systems (CDS)?
@GaryMarcus@Rahll@kortizart Lot's of violations here. Tattoo shops make a ton of money off of infringing content . You could easily make a .csv list of violators for a massive takedown.
@GaryMarcus@Rahll@kortizart This conversation brings back memories of a photocopied drawing my dad had of Mickey Mouse giving the finger. I hated that drawing, which proliferated throughout the years. My dad used it to express how he hated his job at that time. Below are even more infringing examples.
@GaryMarcus@Rahll@kortizart Why doesn't Etsy, Pinterest, or even Google block this? They are all indirectly benefitting financially. Etsy collects fees from these sellers, Google and Pinterest host ads with these searches.
@rick_talbot@GaryMarcus Most figurative artists learn from the old masters who have existed prior to 1928. If the goal is to make anatomically correct art, then a curated dataset of art prior to 1928 would a better dataset (no bad digital art to corrupt it!)
