@StephenM And this is completely ignoring the fact that state-owned non-commercial ships are typically given sovereign immunity and are not "subject to the jurisdiction thereof", so any babies born there would likely be ineligible for US citizenship.
@RandPaul Neither were AR-15s. Just saying. Yes it's a whataboutism but you don't get to talk about how things were different back then for some amendments but ignore the same for others.

@slcmof Most countries (including those without jus soli otherwise) grant jus soli to babies born on their soil if their parents are stateless because of the UN Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness... a treaty that the US didn't sign.
