Your entire rebuttal collapses under one basic mistake - you are confusing the silence of Mauryan inscriptions with the non-existence of Mauryan individuals. Ashoka never names a single minister, general, or court advisor in his edicts either - not even one - does it mean they didn't exist??
Demanding that Chanakya alone must appear in inscriptions isn’t historical reasoning, it’s just your refusal to accept facts. For that matter, Megasthenes doesn’t name a single Mauryan administrator either; so by that logic, did the entire Mauryan bureaucracy who ran the largest empire in India never exist?
Ancient inscriptions were not LinkedIn profiles, and demanding contemporaneous paperwork to prove a specific minister is the kind of argument that would erase Socrates, Pythagoras, Confucius, Laozi, and half of world antiquity.
The irony is this, Chanakya's existence is actually more well-attested than many world figures whose existence nobody questions. We have a signed political treatise naming its author as “Viśnugupta Kautilya,” preserved across multiple manuscript traditions; we have Buddhist chronicles, Jain histories, Hindu nīti texts, Gupta-era political drama, Kashmir narrative literature, and even the Spitzer Manuscript referencing his work from a Buddhist monastery in Kizil - all converging on one man performing one set of political deeds. This is far stronger attestation than we have for Pythagoras, Laozi, Zoroaster, Euclid, or even early Confucius. None of these figures have contemporaneous inscriptions, none left signed works, and most survive only in texts written centuries later by a single tradition. Chanakya, by contrast, is remembered by three competing religious communities and multiple regions with remarkable consistency.
If we apply your same hyper-skeptical standard to deny Chanakya's historicity to other ancient figures, half of world history would cease to exist. Socrates has no contemporary documentation, Buddha’s iconography and earliest biographies are centuries later, Confucius’ life is reconstructed from texts written long after his death, & Zoroaster is almost entirely post-memory. Yet historians accept all of them as real because cross-textual convergence indicates historical reality. By that yardstick, Chanakya is one of the best attested state-builders of the ancient world.
The burden of proof is not on me but on people like you who are trying to erase him despite mountains of evidence that would easily certify any other ancient figure as real.
@ArchitectRupa Is Sanskrit’s “चकास्” (to shine) the root of jhag? With तृतीयोऽतिशयः rule ज replacing च indicates आधिक्य. Mumbai’s slang - जक्कास मामू - also would have originated from that root?

1. Primitive Greek/Roman arithmetic lacked √. Term for √2 is SURD from Latin surdus = DEAF bcoz Europe got √ from Arabs (pic, OED).
Why DEAF?
Bcoz Arabs got it from India. In शुल्ब सूत्र √2 = DIAGONAL (कर्ण) of unit square. But कर्ण also means ear, hence bad कर्ण = deaf!🤣
