While there's been some exciting news out of CA recently (yay no more plastic bags! Yay holding fossil fuel industry accountable!), it doesn’t make up for our deep disappointment that @cagovernor @gavinnewsom failed to take action on microplastics. Again.

Since his veto last yr, ~4 MILLLION lbs of microfibers entered CA's environment from laundry alone. If we wait until Dec 2025, per his latest veto, the equivalent of >17 MILLION t-shirt’s of microfibers will have become pollution in CA since the Gov. had the chance to take action

Cleanup data (like plastic bags ranking in the top 10 most commonly collected item in CA 7 of the last 10 yrs) helped us get this passed!
