Let me tell you a short story..

Once upon a time there lived a Software Engineer
in Bengaluru worked at service companies

He wanted to join FAANG
Takes the same route of DSA and System Design

But sadly could never grind leetcode or mug up
system design books

5 years passed
he is still there where he was
same project, same company
same work

His message was simple -
FAANG or nothing else

Days passed still nothing
he couldn't clear any of the companies

Depressed with himself
he decides to give up software engineering
and went on to do MBA

What happens next?

He goes into an MBA college
A new target is imposed --
MBB or nothing

The cycle continues...

Moral of the story

There is a dream target in every field
and the society will impose it on you

But eventually when you grow older
you'd realize the target should never
be a dream company rather dream
outcome

Like a dream of a boy from a remote village
can be 40K / month so that he can take
care of his ailing Maa

FAANG or any other company is just a vehicle
to reach the outcome..

The outcome can be done
with many other vehicles

------

Now you might say,
its easy for me to
cz I'm at MBB
but the reality is

I wanted to be at FAANG as well
but never attached the company
to fulfill my goal and dreams
I just wanted to do good for my family

So..
Just FOCUS on the higher outcome
companies, jobs, career are just
a vehicle to fulfill that outcome/purpose
