In 1959, Eugene Ionesco wrote the absurdist play Rhinoceros in which one by one, an entire town of people suddenly transform into rhinos. At first, people are horrified but as the contagion spreads, (almost) everyone comes to accept that turning into a rhinoceros is fine. 1/
Bits about Easter - a mix of religious & pagan rituals.
no the Easter Hare does not lay the Easter eggs.
Iโm fascinated by the rules that various religions create for themselves. Sometimes thereโs a historical health origin, no longer relevant & sometimes itโs just weird.
Dear Teachers,
The Christian holiday of Easter is approaching.
Since it always falls on First Day and sometimes falls during Pesach Break, as it does this year, you may not be aware that our Christian students are celebrating this Christian holiday.

@JessamineGreer Just wondering why is imitating the way a person pronounced their own name incorrect? Surely thatโs the most correct way to say it?
Eg the way some cultures pronounce my full name is heavy & guttural- I donโt like it. Iโd prefer it if they pronounced my name the way I do.
It has been a horror weekend of dangerous staffing. In addition to the below, staff in Newcastle, where on call work has largely been phased out, were begged via a general broadcast to pick up on call shifts. The system has collapsed.
13/ Where we treated water for cholera, we now need to treat air for COVID. It is in the air, it is highly infectious, it floats long distances. I'm not even going to bother linking to articles about this. IT IS NOW SETTLED SCIENCE.
"Airlines cancel hundreds of flights due to COVID-19...as they grapple with coronavirus-related staffing shortages weeks after they ditched rules requiring passengers and staff to mask up in the air."
How many passengers got infected?
